It works fine for me. Go to the SIPP account, click on the Summary tab, under funds should be your Vanguard fund and under the Trade column should be + - buttons, click on the + button and follow the instructions.

So we have managed to add cash to the account this is the second month it's been open. It's a SIPP with the intention to drip feed £250 a month into the above. The first 250 we got in there ok and invested it into vanguard 80 acc. However now it's keeps telling us can't invest in same fund!? What the damn hell!? Why can't we add to the investment? We don't want to have £250 sitting in cash in there!? Please can someone help us. We have tried and tried a million ways. Please help

I think you're just not seeing the obvious, maybe you're not so web savvy.

    Keep trying, good luck fj

Sounds like an issue with your account, it works fine for myself and others. That said, I hope it gets resolved quickly, because my personal experience of Best Invest is that they are pants about actually resolving issues where there even a modicum of something going wrong that isn't easily resolved business as usual. I actually gave up funding my SIPP via DD because they ballsed it up 3 times

Possibly a bit of getting what you pay for.

Unlike personal pensions, with a SIPP, you are funding regular fund purchases out of the cash account. So, there needs to be money in the cash account. Some will streamline the direct debit in and the purchase so they happen in a way similar to personal pensions. However, some require a few days difference to allow the cash in the cash account to be cleared before the fund purchase is made. I dont know what method BI operate but it is clear that regulars are not being handled as multiple posters expected.

With our SIPPs, it was more a case of just not taking any money via the DD, which would seem to be the minimum that they could do/all that anyone would expect them to do!

Wasn't worth the hassle of going past 3 chases with them, but surprised that they didn't resolve it as monthly payments = more fees and a (small) income stream for them.

There was some kind of technical problem and they had to unlock something or cancel something. Then it worked just fine.
