Halifax Reward..will PayPal work as a direct debit?

I've recently opened a Halifax Reward account for the £100 for switching my HSBC student account over after they messed me about, and the £5 a month reward. But I need two direct debits. Now technically, I do have two, one is a repair insurance for my PS4, and the other is for my Lloyds Avios Credit card. Both are on my Lloyds account.

I am planning to move the insurance over to my Halifax within the next few days, but I don't really want to move my credit card direct debit over to Halifax as it is just so much easier to keep that where it is. I applied for the Halifax Clarity card but was rejected, but not to worry..

Now, I've just remembered that PayPal have a Direct Debit facility, and so I just set it up on my Halifax account. Although I don't really have much going out via Direct Debit when I use PayPal, I don't really like using their service after I had some trouble last year, but when I do, payments go through my credit card anyway..

Will the PayPal on my Halifax count as a direct debit even if payments don't go out of it frequently?

Perhaps you haven't read the Reward account T&Cs yet? The DDs need to pay out each month. If they don't, you don't get the fiver that month.

I've just remembered that I have an Aqua credit card that I no longer use. I only really earn rewards on my Lloyds credit card if I spend over £1/£5 anyway, so if I purchase something from Aqua below that amount then I can use that for small amounts and then pay it off with a direct debit
