Have a look inside the shower and see what you can see. It may be that you can replace one or two parts for far less cost than a new shower. How old is it, does it look old?
As mentioned if it's a Triton give them a call. Whatever the make get a like for like and there would no moving of pipes/cable and don't increase the KW. rating as you might exceed the cable capacity.

I would try a plumber first for replacement.
