On an Android device, you could maybe edit the HOSTS file.
It's his android device per the OP, therefore tampering with it potentially invokes the computer misuse act 1990 s3.2(a). That route is probably best avoided.

thankyou for all your replies. I agree i cant stop him doing what he wants and that it is his money to do what he wants with it, I have asked him to stop I have begged him to stop. and neither have worked. I have taken his tablet off him afte i found out about his last spending spree. and over the last 2 years he has spent around £2000 on what he believes are "antiques" and as a result this has put a great strain on our relationship.
I have blocked the access to the auction site through our WIFI and thankfully he isnt very technically minded so shouldn't be able to reverse this. if this fails the I cant see any future for us.

If your future is based on his lack of technical ability and your ability to block a site on a device you can't control, I'd be concerned. All he needs to do is connect to a different network and it's game over for you two (by the sound of it).

    Good luck, anyway.

If it's from 1 device, you can block it on that particular device (hosts file), alternatively, you can do it across your local network (your wifi) using the router administration page.
