If you just want a card which you can pay off almost immediately, you won't go too far wrong with a Diners Club card :)

I've never had any problem with it being accepted abroad.

I don't think that a Diners Club charge card is really suitable as a persons very first and only 'credit' card. Why do you make this recommendation? I am curious.

I am aware of the difference in the interest rate. Also cashback for purchase £300+
Apart from that, does creation Everyday card work exactly the same as Halifax Clarity e.g No charge for cash withdrawal abroad, no fee for foreign purchase ??

If i remember correctly, the £5 cashback only applies when you have halifax current account.

Apart from creation everyday/ halifax clarity, there is also MBNA everyday plus AMEX. It is 7.4% APR. But master probably have better exchange rate and being widely accepted...

Not sure if this would help, but there is an offer on MoneySupermarket for the following with 21% interest free purchasing:

American Express - Platinum Cashback Everyday Purchases Credit Card

Also, it pays cash a maximum of 1.25% cashback dependable on what you spend.
