    Good Morning all and thank you for your fabulous replies.

    I'm coming to the conclusion that as my daughter is definitely definite about wanting to do her course at her chosen Uni (its her passion) and as I'm not going to stop her because of money.... that I need to stop whining and put up with the situation.

    My understanding is that any of the loan and interest which isnt paid off after 30 years is written off.

    I suppose that's a positive isnt it? :) :j

    This is nonsense. Of course we could afford to fund it through taxation. We choose not to which is quite a different thing.

    I doubt many people would be in favour of 50% of the population below the age of 20 being given £50k each out of general taxation.
