Hi, wonder if anyone can help me, i usually have to do a system restore every couple of months when i get the "user profile Service service failed the logon"

This time a message popped up saying no restore was logged or something ?

I really have no idea what i`m doing but i wrote down the steps in August 2014 and it`s always worked!...not today tho

i am using a laptop with windows vista and Chrome browser.. and at this moment IE with safe networking..

oh and for several days its been fratting about installing updates then immediately removing them, `cos they weren`t done correctly !!

as i am a complete tech idiot i hope someone can tell me what to do..
thank you for reading

If you're not a techie and weird things start happening with your computer, the first thing I'd suggest is making sure your anti-virus is up-to-date, running a scan, and running a scan with MalwareBytes and adwCleaner.

    MalwareBytes:
Click the "download" link to the free trial. This is actually the free version of the software with an optional trial of the "premium" version. During installation, don't install the trial (untick the box) -- you don't need it.
    https://www.malwarebytes.org/mwb-download/

    adwCleaner:
    https://toolslib.net/downloads/viewdownload/1-adwcleaner/

Run scans with both (and your anti-virus). Hopefully all will be fine, but it's worth checking every now and then.

Assuming everything's okay, this Microsoft webpage explains how to fix "The User Profile Service failed the logon" issue. Feel free to ask if there's anything you don't understand. :)
