In a few years our younger son will be in the same situation.
And no - I don't want to buy an old banger.
Who suggested buying a banger then?
Your Mum? Sorry.... Your Son?0 -
You still haven't explained why you use such unusual language in the thread title?
Almost as though you are the son and not the mum.
What unusual language?
Seems to me that the title is just trying to spell out the situation as clearly as possible, without having to explain the relationship and status of everybody involved all the time (you know how often people just skim read and don't get all the details in posts).0 -

Bigjl's just at it again trying to find BS when there isn't any at the expense of alienating new posters. I'd wish he'd go and find his own forum to moderate.0 -
I don't understand the problem. I understood the OP's post perfectly well and didn't see anything unusual in the choice of words.
And the OP's question was about insurance. I can't see why people are questioning her (and her family's) choices over what to do with the car. If she had come on here asking 'is it a good idea to buy a car so my son can use it during the holidays?' then fair enough. But that decision seems to have been made, and there is little point in debating it.If someone is nice to you but rude to the waiter, they are not a nice person.0
