House interested in is 5 years old will it have a water meter

Options
Will a home of 5 years old have a water meter fitted. Just checking if there are and regs that say any new homes have water meters. I prefer to know what I am paying a month so would like a fixed amount.

You tend to pay a fixed amount each month on a water meter, which they then review each

They will base the initial payment on your house size, number of occupants etc.

Also even if it didn't water companies have the right to install a water meter when a new occupant moves in (happened to me on two house moves). So you may find out that they install one anyway. My guess would be it already has one in it.

It's highly likely it does or that one will be fitted when you move in.

Why not ask the vendors if it has one now and ask the water company if they will install one if you move in?

I personally (single mum, twenty year old son and 10 year old) found I halved my water costs with careful useage. Bath water gets used to mop the floors etc. According to the water company, I use the water equivalent of a one bed flat, in spite of having a garden lol. Until the water companies stop blaming the customer and start plugging their leaks, we all have to conserve water. Just the way it is.

[FONT=&quot]I am living in London, I pay a fixed amount for my water bill.
The Thames water has installed the meter in my property which I never ask. I got a letter saying they will keep sending me comparison between paying based on metered usage and fixed payment until at least two years. I wonder what it means.

After two years elapse, could they force me to move to metered usage ??

I understand if payment based on metered usage it will undervalue the price of the property is it true ?

I thought all houses built since 1990 were supposed to have water meters?
