payment options not working

Parked in a Euro Car Parks space. Payment machine not accepting cash or cards and my mobile out of battery so couldn't pay by phone. Tried again to pay when leaving one hour later but still out of order. Couldn't wait as two passengers both severely disabled and shouting to get under way. Now getting the usual letters from Debt Recovery Plus. My initial appeal was rejected and with no mention of the out of order machines. Can they insist on this payment, or since their machines were not functioning properly can I tell them to go jump in the river.
Regards

If you're at debt collector stage then just ignore. DO NOT contact DRP in any way.

BUT contact the landowner/shop at the car park site and insist they get this invoice cancelled ... after all it wasn't your fault the payment mechanisms were faulty. Mention that there were two disabled passengers in the vehicle, and that you're sure they wouldn't want it known that they condone harassment of disabled shoppers.

Yes ignore DRP doorknobrotters, just let them climb up the wall.
PPCs say its carpark management, BPA say its raising standards..... we all know its just about raking in the revenue.

Nor expose themselves to a claim under the Equality Act 2010 because of the actions and intransigence of their agent, for which, in law, they are jointly and severally liable!

Did Euro Car Parks ever provide a POPLA code?
