I am saving hard to build up extra points to book a holiday with the Tesco vouchers. You have to get the vouchers before you can book the holiday and, once you have the vouchers, they have to be used within 6 months, so like me you are going to have to wait until the New Year to book. Can you book with XL through Tesco? I know you can book with Virgin and Cosmos, but I thought that was about it, unless going to France or the UK. I also have read that the vouchers can only be used against the full brochure price, so there would be little point in looking for any offers. I am not really sure how good a deal it is, but others who have booked holidays seem to think it is wonderful, so I plan to give it a go.

yes xl is on tescos website and you pay the online price so i have heard instead of the brochure price:)

That sounds a pretty good deal then - I have to say I was looking at Virgin, but assumed it would be the same for all the holidays when I said it was against the full brochure price.

Pretty sure I read that all people saving for XL via clubcard had to have them in by October as they will no longer be accepting them, was another one too but can't remeber which !
Too many children, too little time!!!

Yes xl finishes 31 st October 07 and holidays must be book by then for holidays/flights upto October 08.
If you have £6000? or is that 6000 points which would be £240 in deals?

If its £240 in deals you would be better off booking just flights with them and then hotel with someone else. I order my XL voucher Yesterday (Thursday) and they came today and we are booking flights tomorrow. We have £495 in deals so 3 of us are off to Santorini next June/July for £129 total. Im just sorry they are pulling out
If you look anything like your passport photo....Your too ill to travel
  • We've just booked to go for a week near Marbella at October half term with XL. We've had 3 free holidays to Disney, 1 set of free flights to Dublin and a few nights in hotels plus days out - all in the last 5 years for a family of 6.

Sadly Bridge Travel and French Life have already left the Tesco's scheme and XL leave at the end of October, leaving Virgin and (bad value) Cosmos as possibly the only package holiday providers by air left.

You have to think that while you wouldnt pay these price if it was cash you were handing over but your paying 25% of the cost of the holiday so even Virgin and P&O are still good value

  • It's a shame you can't use them to get to Disneyland Paris anymore - we've had 3 trips there courtesy of mr T, which were made even more special because they were free!!!
