Help!!

Sorry i didnt know what else to put in the title. My girlfriend turns 21 in November and i plan to take her to New York for it(cliche i know). Anyway i cant afford to pay out £1400 in one lump sum for flights and hotel. I have used travel agents before to book holidays to greece and such and i paid them off over a period of time. I was just wondering if this was possible to do with a city break if anyone knows???? Any help is very very very much appreciated. Thanks!

Hi, oddly enough Ive just returned from New York and we celebrated Mrs Phatbears 40th over there so I personally dont see the cliche, anyway your question is a tad difficult to answer, surely it depends on who you book with. For instance when I booke our holiday through expedia they took a lump payment and then took the rest 3 months later, I could have paid the lot off in one go but thought the money looked nicer in my account. Cant you put the holiday on a credit card or have a look at expedia etc (and remember to go through quidco for some cashback). The one thing you have against you is time, after all november is only 2 months away so even if you can pay bits off it will still be largish lumps.

All the best, ooo and dont forget to get you out of towners card from macys, which is the best shop in the world, for 11% off of everything.

    all the best

Lol thanked you instead of hitting quote..

Usually it works where the full balance has to be paid 10 weeks before departure date (12 at a push) on full holidays.

Ask the advisor, they want your money so nothing to lose..

Oh and for the record its not cliche, i say power to your elbow. :T

If you book your hotel via one of the big chains, you may not have to pay until check out, saving you a bit just now.

Or you can use http://www.travelaxe.com to find a better rate.
    Theres also

and my own site, "budgetflyers half price holidays forever" has another 2 comparison engines on it.

Some may be pay up front, some aren't. You will initially just have to slog your way through them but quickly you will realise which consolidators want upfront money and which don't.
You will also quickly realise how much prices can vary for EXACTLY the same hotel.
It might with a really good upfront rate,be worth it to WACK THE PLASTIC. Pay the interest for a couple of months.

Your flights , once again is a slog. These you will have to pay upfront.
