Which has the longest life on a slate roof tin or the 'new;' plastic roof soakers?

Hello,

I am wanting to know which will have the longest life on a slate roof tin or the 'new' plastic (pvc?) soakers?

Is there different grades in the plastic material i.e higher grades last longer?

Not sure on the lifetime difference on each but I would always go with the aluminium/zinc (or better lead if your budget stretches) as they can be formed to match your roof, the plastic ones I've seen are pretty thick and not that flexible so you might not get as good a finish with them on a slate roof
