Good morning all, I hope you are all well.
Dry and brightish here in Birmingham at the moment. I will have a line full of washing to go out very soon, so I hope it stays dry.

dumpling lovely to hear you are out and about.xx

Spekysquarehead How annoying for you that you have left your phone at your girlfriends house. I would be quite lost without mine.

I have drooped DD at college early as she she an AS exam. She has been quite stressed and doesn't feel very confident. But we will see.
The rest of the day may consist with me popping into some charity shops and having lunch somewhere. I feel like treating myself.

I do have to hoover and tidy though before I do this so better crack on. Have a lovely Friday everyone. Xx

Good Morning all and a big cheer for dumpling you are really doing well honey Well done

The weather looks dry and breezy so I shall be putting some washing out on the line this morning for a good blow hopefully.

Its all birthdays just lately yesterday was my brother-in-law Ray's and today is my DGS Danny's young lady Hayley's birthday. Next Wednesday DGS Mikey is 12 and on Friday his brother Henry is 15.Then two more in July then hopefully a bit of a break :):):)

I have been watching Marcella on my TiVo box and its really not bad at all. Only two more episodes to go :)

Today is pay day so I shall make my monthly visit to the bank to draw out the cash for small bills and housekeeping and then by lunchtime all accounting done for the month of June .I use only cash for housekeeping as it focuses you on what you need to buy, rather than what you want ISWIM.I keep it in a separate purse and only use the cash to buy stuff from the shops for food.

This month though I have a bet with my friend that I will be able to empty at least one of my food cupboards completely if I can as I do have far too much stuff in stock so my shopping bill will (fingers crossed) be minimal :).

I shall be using up as much as I can and buying as little as possible .What I have left in my purse at the end of June will go to my Race for Life fund and my friend said she would double it .So its a way or raising some extra funds for CRUK and encouraging me to use up some of the surplus indoors .
    :)

I started last night by wading through some of the huge white cabbage I had in the fridge About a third has gone I had it steamed with a venison burger and a sweet potato and some mushrooms odd combination ,but it worked I found some spicy tomato chilli chutney in the cupboard so a good dollop of that livened up the rather bland white cabbage :)

Tonight I shall be having some fish from the freezer with some more of this blessed cabbage :):):). My shopping list has only lettuce, tomato & cucumber on it at the moment, so I shall wait until there are a few more things on there before I go near a shop :) Good job I'm not fussed what I eat and will eat virtually anything . I am going to delve amongst the tin cupboard today to see what surfaces that I can hash together with something else :):):)
Have a good day chums what ever you are doing

    Dumpling :j:j:j

Well done . I was going to say you had made great strides but was a bit of a pun.

I need to use up some stuff in the fridge as well and have cabbage to use up. I might stir fry it with apple and onion and make a pie to welcome back youngest dd tonight. I will need to make the effort to get to the bigger supermarket and stock up a bit.

I don't know what changed but I had a really good sleep last night and feel better for it. Things in the house are starting to come together and the builders make a start on removing the kitchen dividing wall and demolishing the kitchen next week  and :j
at the same time. The hall is painted and looks much nicer as a sort of pearly light cream which is cheering me up.

I went to the diet club yesterday and have put on a lot of the weight I had lost so decided it was time to stop making excuses like the house being a building site etc and to focus on healthy proper meals. Maybe dig out the remoska if I can find it while I am without a kitchen over the next week or so.

    Hugs to all.

Just wanted to mention that Ilona has a thread on shed of the year and it would be lovely if anyone voted. Hers is on the budget section and a summerhouse made of doors and palettes, painted in greens, blues and yellows and only cost about £20 in all.

Hugs to all and hope I haven't broken any rules by mentioning this.

Some good sheds there, I do love a shed. Have had a happy few minutes choosing sheds in each category
I was jumping to conclusions and one of them jumped back

Hi chums just at Dds with a very happy DGS Jack who doesn't have to wear school uniform anymore .When he goes back after the half term, because he is going into 6th form in September he can wear his own clothes instead :):) as a sixteen year old he said it will make him feel more 'grown up' :):)
Bless him it doesn't seem five minutes ago I was changing his bottom :):):)

Washing is out on the line having a good blow and fish is out of the freezer for dinner tonight

Thanks Janiceatkins so much for your donation to my DD & I's' Race for Life' its so kind of you, I am hoping for a better time this year, got some better shoes as well as I did the last kilometre in my socks last year :):):)
Roll on July and fingers crossed some nice dry weather.

My shed is past its best I'm afraid ,and as there had been so many break-ins locally I decided not to replace it. Its totally empty and as I have a gardener come once a fortnight I really don't need one anymore. My Dds in-laws one is so old and decrepit that it looks like the leaning Tower of Pisa and I think its only the junk inside thats keeping it up :):):) but her pa-in-law is 86 bless him and won't hear of it being removed, even though I don't think he's been inside of it this century :):):)

Right time to find something for our Jack to eat as he is permanently hungry and has hollow legs

Thanks for the votes, I don't know where my thread has gone, maybe I broke some rules. Yes, the criteria for building my shed was that it should not cost anything. I scrounged, begged, pestered people for free materials. A double glazing company gave me doors and long pieces of wood for the roof supports. I already had some wood in my garage, salvaged from my lorry driving days. I pick up pallets when I see them, my estate car is used as a van with the seats down. Friends gave me half tins of paint, I had some paving slabs scattered around the garden, and carpet tiles which had been stored under my stairs for 20 years, knew they would come in useful for something. It is a true MSE shed/summer house/beach hut. Only the roof I paid for, a £20 donation for charity. I had fun making it.
