An EA holding a copy of a lease does so because he has been warned there is a problem with the lease or some caveat therein.
Second-hand flats, in decent locations, where not ex-LA or deck access are usually un-problematic when it comes to mainstream lenders.I am a mortgage broker. The EA wasn't holding a copy of the lease, he had to obtain it for me from the vendor, took a couple of weeks.
At the time I thought nothing of it, I just didn't like the t&cs and assumed it was me being my usual picky self.:D
I only noticed that it had come back onto the market again by chance. Maybe there's nothing wrong and it's just co-incidence.
I asked for a copy of the lease immediately my offer was accepted - just in case - because I didnt want to incur unnecessary legal costs for an aborted purchase should I need to pull out. As it turned out I was right to do so.
As for lenders......well they seem to make up the rules as they go along.:rotfl:0
