Thanks for the tip. I just called my local store and they only have 2 left in stock. I could have got it from Waterstones, online, free delivery for £12.50 too but itching to get hold of a copy. Thanks. :-)“Ordinary riches can be stolen, real riches cannot. In your soul are infinitely precious things that cannot be taken from you.” - Oscar Wilde0 -
I just ordered the Nigella recipe book from here
http://primetime.unrealitytv.co.uk/nigella-express/
and I can't wait to use it!
Can anyone recommend any good ones to try. I am new to Nigella, but my sister cooks her stuff all the time.0 -
I tried the pork chops - gorgeous!
Anyone know how to do the chocolate mousse she did last time? Not on the website.
I love Nigella - :T0 -
I succumbed and bought the book. I too want to make EVERYTHING in it.
I have just made the chocolate mousse.
150g mini mallows
250g dark chocolate
50 g soft butter
60ml very hot water (from a kettle)
284ml double cream
1tsp vanilla essence
In heavy duty pan put water, chocolate, marshmallows and butter and heat gently, stirring till dissolved. Remove from heat.
Whip cream and vanilla essence until stiff and fold into cooling chocolate ad fold in. Scrape into glasses/ramekins.
When I added my cream to the chocolate it just all went runny so suspect the chocolate was still too hot. Nigella did not say, leave to cool but I would suggest that you do. I poured mine into the glasses and am aiting to see if they solidify a bit or if I am serving chocolate soup to my guests tonightThank you for this site :jNow OH and I are both retired, MSE is a Godsend0 -
The October issue of Good Housekeeping magazine has some Nigella Fast Food recipes in it also if anyone is interested.
Here is the link for the GH site also, some good recipes on there too.

I just got the book from Waterstones online free delivery 12.50 but it was on sale at the local Fashion and Gift Fair with the book people local agent for £9.99. Could kick myself for not getting it then. Suggest you look out for it at local show/school events from now to Christmas since it's not on their online list.0

Despite wanting to make everything in the book I haven't got round to any recipes yet -thinking about the rocky road for my kids (I don't like marshmallows so it will be a good one for me to make -I won't end up eating it all.
THis pork recipe is actually something I do often with chicken breasts. I think cream, mustard and cider is a classic combination from Normandy especially if you add apples too0 -
Anyone made the Party Popcorn yet? I've got all the ingredients, just need to get hold of a large paper carrier bag to shake it all about. :-)“Ordinary riches can be stolen, real riches cannot. In your soul are infinitely precious things that cannot be taken from you.” - Oscar Wilde0

I fancied making the popcorn Smiley Mum. My kids would like the flavourings I think. I thought I'd just toss it together in a large bowl with my hands. Paper bags are a bit hard to come by these days.0
