I will word this with provisos. I see no wall ties, I see no starter kit, I see gaps in the insulation, I see no insulation at the base...obviously I am not there on your job, but ...!
I think the work should be condemned.0 -
Looking at this image I just don't get it, which way is original?' what's new etc.
Answer to original question, insulated block inner/brick outer/cavity to current 100mm spec with cav ties, can't see any further detail to comment on.I like the thanks button, but ,please, an I agree button.
Will the grammar and spelling police respect I do make grammatical errors, and have carp spelling, no need to remind me.;)

Everything in the picture is new.
What sort of blocks are they? Is there a specific name for them? Same with the insulation - what type is it?0 -

Therefore, do not accept dot and dabbed plasterboard on bare brick/blockwork. Either add a parge coat before the plasterboard, or wet plaster (my choice).
I actually think you are wrong, no internal blockwork is ever air tight, indeed no wall is totally moisture "empty".
Walls have to breath, both ways in and out.
Put absolute vapour barrier in there and condensation takes over. The cavity, even if insulated acts as a vapour chimmneyI like the thanks button, but ,please, an I agree button.

They look like standard 7nm concrete blocks.0

In terms of cost, I was quoted for the drawings which said a double layer of bricks.
if the builder himself is a plasterer by trade and will subcontract the brick and block work but do the plastering part himself, what sort of difference in price per sq. metre could I expect?0 -

You shouldn't expect any if you accepted his quote, regardless in terms of efficiency, blocks, thermalite ot MDC are perfectly acceptable, preferable infact in a small single storey extI like the thanks button, but ,please, an I agree button.

I accepted the quote for following the drawings, which involved a double layer of bricks.
I am trying to find out the difference in cost, bearing in mind he would do the plastering himself, as well as how suitable the materials in the photo are.0
