Monthly salary - is it right? Online calculator says different?

She thinks she should have got more ie £476.47?? That's what online calculator says?
Gross Pay and Net Pay says the same ie £414.99
The online calculator has simply divided the annual salary of £5,718 by twelve.
If your friend wants to know why her gross pay was less than one twelfth of £5,718 she is just going to have to contact the payroll department of her employer and ask them how they calculated it.
The rest of us will just be guessing.0 -
My partners company pays off a 53 week year and he gets an extra wage near Christmas - anything like this?
Does the company need clocking in and out, has she been doing this? My company has a 2 minute rule, we must clock in at 7:58 and can't clock out until 20:02 or we lose 15 minutes.
Did she work a week in advance?
Deductions for uniforms or anything?
Better off taking it in and asking the payroll. There is many reasons why it may fall a bit short.0 -

The OP's friend would be short-changed if the employer multiplied NMW by 15 hours by 52 weeks to get to an annual salary which was then divided b 12, wouldn't they?Signature removed for peace of mind0 -
Well, given that most months are more than 28 days long, my google calendar usually shows 53 weeks in a year, and if I need a weekly calculation that's usually the way I go....
There are 365 or 366 days in a year. There are 7 days in a week. 365 divided by 7 is 52.14....The OP's friend would be short-changed if the employer multiplied NMW by 15 hours by 52 weeks to get to an annual salary which was then divided b 12, wouldn't they?
NMW calculations don't work that way.0 -

extra days in a month over the 28 account for the extra 4 weeks to make 52.
There are 13x4 week(28 day) periods and an extra day(or 2) in a year).
Using 53 weeks is way off.0
