Parking ticket gone to far?
whey
Hi, Last year December I got a parking ticket from Stockport peel centre Excel because I had got a letter wrong when I was typing in the reg number. I sent them a letter explaining it and didn't hear anything we moved house in feb, two weeks ago I got a phone call from Hassel Solicitors stating that I owed £189.00. I explained everything and they advised me to get in contact with excel which I have with no response. They keep ringing my house Phone and mobile and texting me. They have apparently been sending letters to my previous address. They said that this was with a debt recovery agent and had been passed to them and I need to settle the balance I am student nurse with two kids I can't afford it. Is to late for me to do anything??

No need for any threads about these letters. Sit tight and read what's already here umpteen times over! Tell Wright Hassall to cease and desist because the alleged debt is disputed and denied. Put the phone down. Stop trying to 'explain everything' PLEASE!! And don't make an offer of money!!!
Come back if Excel try a small claim and we'll help.PRIVATE 'PCN'? DON'T PAY BUT DON'T IGNORE IT (except N.Ireland).

Hi, Thank you for your reply, these threads are 3 years old I weren't sure if they were still valid. Also I haven't had any letters just phone calls so I should just ignore till they answer my appeal. Thank you for your help0

Look at when they were edited...and the top one is a STICKY THREAD (permanent info advice) which is why it stays at the top of this forum!PRIVATE 'PCN'? DON'T PAY BUT DON'T IGNORE IT (except N.Ireland).

What you do need to do is inform WH and the PPC of your new address.
If not, they could start a court action using your old address and get a summary judgement with you getting a CCJ because you were not aware.
Do it in writing with a free certificate of posting from the post office.0
