Halifax Clarity Card question

I'm going on holiday and have a clarity card limit of £1200. The hotel is costing £2000 so I would like to preload £800 on to the card and use it to pay for the hotel so we don't have any charges (paying off the £1200 immediately online).
I've read that preloading is against the ts&cs - is there anything else I can do.
Thank you.

Could you pay half of the hotel bill with your card, pay it off, then pay the other half?Evolution, not revolution0

I've pre-loaded by accident on my clarity ccd by overpaying, never had extra charges or had any problem. Then again, the maximum i have done it with is £80ish.
Or, can't you ask for a larger limit, explain the circumstances and you may get the larger limit.0
