Let them, bin or file the letters away and keep ignoring.
Whatever you do. DO NOT OPEN UP ANY TYPE OF CONVERSATION WITH DRP .

All they can send is pointless letters and in the end refer back to the PPC ..... no door knocking, no bully's boys, nothing more than their stupid letters WHICH MEAN NOTHING

    After 6 years - maybe.

They can only use the courts to sue you for up to six years after the event took place, after that they can still 'ask' you for the money but not via a court.

The sticky threads recommend that u ignore debt collectors - end of.

and throw doubt on their good standing as a respectable company.
I've just sent a shower of coffee cascading over my keypad. Are you serious?

We recommend no contact with a debt recovery company as that will only encourage them to continue to harass the writer. Nothing, other than a cheque, will deflect them from their task of grasping money from the naive, vulnerable and unsuspecting.

When they decide to do so - or you send them a cheque. Just open the envelope, quick scan, file it safely, forget it, and then get on with your life.

How do you deal with Nigerian Government officials who want to send millions to your bank account? Do likewise with debt crawlers.

We've ignored this letter chain for a decade. Anyone who pays has been mugged:

Jeez, some people collect these letters fro fun. I've ignored them myself, it's no biggie.

Just do NOT ignore court papers...and do not reply if any poster sends you a private message offering to 'help'. You need no help to laugh at this daft letter chain.

    HTH
PRIVATE 'PCN'? DON'T PAY BUT DON'T IGNORE IT (except N.Ireland).

To be fair, post #4 of the Newbies thread does say you should consider it. That was what I was referring to, as once you've disputed and denied the debt, it puts you in a position to bring a harassment charge if they continue. I suppose it comes down to how argumentative you want to be with them.

I presume you know how difficult this is? You will know that it isn't as simple as issuing a MCOL.

Lots of people quote it, but no poster from the general parking forums have (to my knowledge) issued a 'harassment charge' against a PPC, let alone succeed in prosecuting one.

    Letter%20For%20Fine.jpgAfternoon All,

Just another update really - unfortunately i've just opened the attached letter from a solicitor's company demaning £149.00 for this fine.

Now that i've received a solicitors letter whom can easily start court proceedings do you think its wise to pay up now or to carry on ignoring knowing they are only bluffing?

Any advice is greatly appreciated here - you guys have been very helpful on this already.

    Thanks!

thousands of people receive similar DRP letters and plenty of advice on here about what to do with them (IGNORE)

who says they are bluffing ?

DRP may be bluffing but if it was actually from GLADSTONES then they may not be bluffing, as many threads have turned into court cases for gladstones cases

that looks like the bluff issued by DRP , not gladstones

if you get an LBC from Gladstones (or the PPC), or an MCOL from Northampton , come back

if you get debt collector letters , IGNORE

after 6 years it is statute barred

ps:- only a fool would pay as even if you lost in court it may be that sum , or less , or a bit more, better to fight your corner before making any payment than to roll over and play dead
