Thursday 26th May - What small DFW things will you do today?

When we start out on the DFW trail we do loads of "big stuff" that makes quite a difference to our situation. These include having our lightbulb moment, cutting up the credit cards and cancelling Sky and the gym.

But once we have done the bigger stuff, we often feel that we are not making the same amount of progress, when in fact the small steps are helping us form good financial habits and helping us get closer everyday to staying in control and becoming debt free, or staying debt free.

Examples could be hanging washing out instead of using the tumble dryer or leaving your purse/wallet at home to avoid the risk of spending.

So be proud of those small steps, they really are important :money:

    Good morning everyone
Hope you've woken to a better day than I have today. It's rained solidly since yesterday lunchtime and is still going. The kind of weather that makes you want to hibernate.
Also feeling a bit stressed and tired - Dawn, I feel for your DD teaching on a poor night's sleep is an absolute killer.
One of our neighbours came round last night to tell us that she'd seen one of our cats get clipped by a car earlier in the day. Cat seems absolutely fine and her normal self. I, being me, am worried sick that she's going to die. So worrying going on there.
    Other plans for today:
:) check banking and PAD - thank goodness payday is approaching.
:) mark my Year 10 books
    :) plan for next week
:) get dh to keep a close eye on the cat for a potential vet visit
    :) get dd to cheerleading
    :) meals from stores
:) try not to stress and worry too much
:) plan cover work for tomorrow when I take dh back to hospital
    :) try for some exercise
    :) try for some crochet
    :) aim for nsd
    :) meals from stores
That's all I can think of for the moment - have a good day everyone :D

Hi everyone thanks for starting the thread cat. Hope you can use some distraction techniques not to worry so much. Have you seen that little video meme about how heavy a glass of water is? Search it out, I may try to find it and put it on the fab group. Moral of the story is a glass of water is light but if you hold it for a long time it becomes heavy. Same with worries and stressesx

Ziggy ace on the Wembley tickets!

So today have the interview and it's a mission to the venue! Just looked it up that it'll take 50 minutes to get there  so to be on the safe side I should give myself 1.5 hrs:eek:

    Things for today's:

    Doing some prep now

Put a load of washing on and hang outside

All meals from stores - using up lo tuna pasta for mine and oh's lunch

Find something to do todo a bear trap with

Sow some dwarf French beans - pesky slugs and snails ate my last lot

Sow some more lettuce - I'm having terrible trouble growing lettuce! Why what am I doing wrong?

Photo a few things to list on fleabay tonight

While in the town I going to for my interview going to pop into oasis and pick up a top I'm after using my cc rewards vouchers - so free to me :T

Call the temp agency about my pay check as I believe it is wrong. Instead of getting a tax rebate I've been taxed heavily!

Send email resigning from cafe  ok so that's done!no more dithering and worrying about this!

    Clean upstairs

Might go go shopping after interview for things for the festival and when me and dgd are away camping next week

Ok think that's my lot for today. Happy Thursday y'all :A

    Hi All,

Just waiting each day for my creditors to respond to my self managed DMP. I have made it manageable but it will take forever to clear :(:( Went to bed at 9pm last night, however DS1 crept into our bed so had a bad nights sleep. He has a cold coming, DS2 was unsettled as tooth number 6 is coming through. Looks like a quiet half term for us as cant afford to do much with the kiddies. Although DD has a day out with grandad planned. Oh, its been bright, warm and sunny here however gone a little overcast now.

    - school run done
    - took a wash to mums so can dry on the line and have done a wash for her done
    - mowed my mums lawn for her done
-sort out paperwork for council who help assist should we find a suitable property (eagerly awaiting call to view the maisonette I mentioned last week) done - and we have been accepted onto the scheme so now to find a home!
    - lunch and then nursery run with DD
    - pop into town to collect contact lenses and get some salad for our dinner
    - school run and quick dinner as DS1 has footy
    - poach some pears for DS2s lucnhes/dinners
    - ironing
    - quick run around with hoover
    - chill

Hope you are all ok, its nearly the weekend!! x

    Afternoon Frugalistas,
Today has gone completely t*ts up in terms of my job list & everything else, so I feel I've achieved nothing for me & mine except a basket of ironing & making some bread. mr f has volunteered to cook tonight, so as the sun is trying to make its first shaky appearance of the day, I'm off down the garden to talk to my vegetables......one way to get a sensible conversation.
