Halifax Clairty Credit Card - Changes? how does this affect me?

Hi there has been a change for the halifax clarity credit card

it now says
that theres a fee if you make a purchase in a non sterling currency.

Does this mean that if when your abroad and you select to pay in the local currency instead of british pounds. There will be a charge?


Im not sure how this affects me. I thought the clarity card you didnt get any changes anywhere in the world and just the mastercard exchange rate

I think the poster is referring to section A5 in the letter - in green writing.

It is poorly worded - I don't think it means that they will start to charge a fee for cash withdrawals/transactions.

It is a very confusing section. But the summary sheet makes it clear that the user is not affected by the change.

Letter? I've received no mail from Halifax...

Two people yesterday and today have posted that Halifax CS told them there are charges for overseas use of Clarity. I assumed it was just ignorance. Or is all this more than just coincidence..?

Me and the wife have both received the same letters but only I have a clarity card and hers is for a different halifax CC. The letters and changes are identical and generic with the only exception really in section A5 where all mine are 0% or £0 for fees etc and hers have different rates. I think because the letters are generic they have caused confusion with the wording beneath the table where it goes on to talk about money withdrawal fees etc and interest. So all in all we still don't get fees and charges on our CLARITY cards for normal use

Yes. It has a ZERO fee. People just don't read things properly.
