Draught after new french door

I have had a window replaced with a french door today and have noticed there is a real draught coming from the gap between the frame and the chipboard covering the floor recess. Is this normal?
The chipboard will be getting covered with our chosen flooring however will this be enough of a draught proof?
I didnt expect to have any gaps causing draught. And don't want to assume it's meant to be like this, put my flooring over the top and still have a draughty room.

Got any photos? Is the draft definitely coming from the frame or somewhere else in the subfloor?0

A typical scenario is the frame has not been bedded, and the gap under the frame has not received sealant. This sealant should be on the outside and on the face inside the room.
Go outside, get down on the ground and have a good look at the underside of the cill. Check for gaps!0 -
Even if the doors are bedded correctly it is likely to be air from the cavity rather than directly from the outside.
Maybe the gap is excessive, remember any gap or hole in the floor, especially floorboards as against chip, will draw air into the room quite noticeably. It doesn't matter if the joint is over the cavity or the general underfloor, you have to remember the whole of the void under the floors is ventilated.
Possibly just needs a can of foam filler or some other sealant, silicone even.
You could even just tag a bit of breathable roofing membrane in the reveal with a staple gun and carpet over carpeted over. Don't use polythene or any thing non porous thoughI like the thanks button, but ,please, an I agree button.
Will the grammar and spelling police respect I do make grammatical errors, and have carp spelling, no need to remind me.;)
Always expect the unexpected:eek:and then you won't be dissapointed0
