Credit Rating Agency - Adding Dodgy Accounts

Hi,

I am in a very difficult situation where Experian is deliberately trying to ruin my Credit rating by Adding dodgy & Defaulted accounts and linked addresses in my name, which are not known to me.

This began in 2014 when i first got registered with Experian.
They added 10 different dodgy accounts in my name including the infamous wonga.
After numerous phone calls and countless mail conversations they got it removed, it took almost 4-5 months.
They also confirmed that these will be removed permanently. (Unfortunately on phone not e-mail)

Now in May 2016 before applying for a Mortgage i thought to get a Statutory Report from Experian for 4£.
The Statutory report still showed the wrongly linked Addresses and 1 wrong account in my name.Just after a couple of days they started adding all those dodgy accounts again which were 2 years ago.Which were removed last year as there was no evidence of accounts in my name.

Now they are simply sending e-mails with the Office Address of the Defaulted companies and asking me to contact them.
I think it is a marketing trap to get me hooked into their monthly subscription, to check the Credit report more often.
I would like to know if there is a quicker and proper way of dealing with this.
As talking to the customer care Agents is as useless as doing nothing.

CRA's dont add records in willy nilly these are always requests from credit providers who may have misidentified the record.

You should contact the relevant credit companies to state these are incorrect records and that they should be removed from your file

    Hi jK_daniel

I'm sorry to hear these defaults have reappeared on your credit report, I can appreciate how frustrating this can be be especially at a time when you are going through a mortgage application.

From your post it sounds like we have queried this information with the lenders for you and they've come back saying you will need to contact the lenders to now dispute these.

The information we hold is the lenders own information, so for any amendments to be made it would be up to them. We can't change them without their authorization unfortunately.

If we haven't queried these files for you already, send me an email with your query to uksocialsupport@experian.com with your reference number, name, date of birth and address please. I'll then contact the lenders directly for you.

    Regards
    Joe

Wow. You must have taken a heck of a run up to jump to a conclusion like that.

I would start by double checking this is not (at least in part) Experian's fault.

Look in detail at each one of the accounts that show in your report which aren't actually yours.
    a) Does the name exactly match yours?
    b) Does the address exactly match yours?
    c) Do the active periods match the time you were living in that address?
    d) Does the date of birth match yours?

Looks like you have access to the Entire database of Experian, and could make such a comment without even looking at the case.
Experian had removed all the defaulted accounts previously, as there were not able to find any default accounts in my name and had acknowledged
it was a mistake from their side. Now they have added them again, is the concern.

Not really. I just applied common sense and thought it highly unlikely they would pick on you to destroy your credit rating. Wouldn't it be more likely to be just a mistake?

This was done initially when they added the default accounts in 2014.
The debt companies have removed it from their database.
I have told experian to give the account number of the default companies if they think they are true.I'm sure if they were genuine at least any one of the listed defaulted companies would have given any details to us in any form saying the account i held with them was legit and the sum of money i owe.

I never had any response from them.
In my opinion CRA's shouldn't add the accounts which were proved to be incorrect in the first place. Adding them to the Credit report takes a minute doesn't matter it is true or not, but proving them to be wrong takes ages and the worst part is they could be added again.

If the CRA's think they are genuine they shouldn't be removed in the first place and should remain in the Credit Report till it is settled..I don't think any lender would let you get away with few hundreds worth of debt if you haven't settled it.

With Experian the Grey's Law (http://www.urbandictionary.com/define.php?term=Grey%27s%20Law) always applies.
