I have just been to a large well known DIY shop. They had a well known laminate flooring brand (excellent thick floor planks) marked up as £11.99 a pack or £24ish (cant remember exactly) per sqm. Now I knew in the back of my mind that this was marked up incorrectly as each pack contains 1.73 sqm so clearly this doesn't add up. So I thought well I will take my chances asked a store worker who looked at the label and confirmed it was £11.99. I had my disable step father with me so had to ask them to load it up for me (9 packs in total). On reaching the till however they scanned through at £20ish per pack totalling £180ish. I queried this and said how much they were marked up for. Que a walk to the aisle where they agreed with me and said it must be labelled wrong. Now the lady went in the back to retype the label whilst asking the manager what could be done. They came back with they cant sell it to me for that but they can give me 15% off which I accepted and left the store with my floor. However I am yet to unload it as its bugging me if I got a good deal or was swindled out of a better one due to their shoddy pricing? any ideas would be appreciated thankyou

you got a good deal.
The store do not have to sell you anything if they don't want to and you cannot force them to sell you something at any price.

I thought I had but I got it into my mind that if something is marked up at one price they have to sell it to you for that but clearly I'm imagining things again :rotfl:

No, they don't have to sell anything to you at any price no matter what the label on the shelf says. The 'contract' comes into place once you go to the checkout and they accept your offer to pay for the goods at a price they agree.
