My HUDLE 2 has lost the HDMI out function. When I go to Settings/Device/HDMI all options are grayed out! Anyone advise?

I'd try a backup and factory reset.0

I'm afraid a factory reset did not restore the HDMI out function, any other suggestions?0

If you do not have a cable connected to the Hudl and the device (tv) is not on then they will be greyed out.0
-
With the Hudle on, cable connected and tv on, the HDMI options are still greyed out0

Is it still under Warranty? Check and return if it is. There have been problems with some Hudl 2's in the past. If not under warranty, I am sorry to say your options are limited. This company repairs all tablets including Hudl, but it sounds like yours may need a motherboard, which is £69.

Our own Hudl (2 years old when it gave up) sits in a deep dark cupboard somewhere...I think this job really needs
a much bigger hammer.

Definitely out of warranty. This is just the HDMI-out that has a problem, the thing works fine otherwise, perhaps a bit premature to scrap it, thanks anyway.0

I only gave that information because the HDMI socket is a direct motherboard connection. Take a look at the socket with a magnifying glass, any sign of damage?
If you are happy to use the Hudl as is, fine.I think this job really needs
a much bigger hammer.

I have no alternative cable. Taking it to Tesco today as suggested by the hudle helpline people, will report back.0

It transpires that it was a duff cable which was a surprise to me as I have been the only one to connect/disconnect and I would not have called myself heavy-handed ( I always made a point of using the small plastic connection protectors) ! I cannot argue with facts though so a new cable was bought for £12 approx.
Many thanks to all respondents,
