There's a problem with your computer scam

Just hang up.0

If bored, string them along pretending to press the keys they tell you to. Then tell them you have to go to the bathroom and leave the phone off the hook while you pretend to do so. Return to the 'phone and say you are a different person. I once had a call centre scammer tell me to F off for doing this to him.
If not bored, then just hang up without ceremony.0 -
I look forward to them, cheap entertainment!
Got 20 minutes from the last one :T0 -
Another idea is a redirect 'time wasting bot' which keeps the conversation going as long as possible.
A UK number is also available here - only one 'bot' on this number unfortunately.:exclamati Error: The filename, directory name, or volume label syntax is incorrect. :doh:0 -
There's a thread on here where there was a competition to see who could keep them on the line the longest.
I think the current record is 1 hour 45 minutes.:wall: Flagellation, necrophilia and bestiality - Am I flogging a dead horse? :wall:
Any posts are my opinion and only that. Please read at your own risk.0 -
I was getting loads of these and various other calls but I bought a BT Guardian set of phones and they require the caller to say their name before it rings through to the handsets. None of the people on these type of calls end up leaving their name and you can choose to automatically reject their number in the future.0

So the other day, I got a phone call from someone with a heavy Indian accent, saying they were from Microsoft...
Turns out I'd forgotten that I'd signed up for a bit of developer software from Microsoft, and it WAS them.
Sometimes.. Microsoft IS Microsoft calling.0 -

Am I the only one who has never had such a call...? :undecided
Perhaps you are careful who you given your phone number to when filling forms? It might be a lesson for the rest of us.
I suppose I'm calling for some sort of action against the scammers. It's amazing how modern technology always helps the criminals more than the victims.0
