New BT Line/Broadband

Hi,

I am moving into a new flat, that doesnt have cable available so I have placed an order for a bt line to be installed for £125 on 26th September.

Now I have been given a temporary number which should stay with me when active. Do i need to wait until the installation is complete, or can I order broadband using the temporary number?

I.e i believe it takes up to two weeks for BB to be active, i was wondering if I also ordered now, it would be active as soon as the phone setup was completed...

Yes, you will have to wait for your BT line to be fitted before you can order ADSL.

If you had wanted ADSL and the new BT line to be installed/active at the same time, you would have needed to ask your ISP for whats called a '[SIZE=-1]Simultaneous [/SIZE][SIZE=-1]provide order'

The ISP would then have given you a special order code, which you then have quoted when you ordered the new BT line.

if you order BT broadband this can be made active the same time as your bt line

Each ISP operates these slightly differently.

First, contact the ISP of your choice and check they do a simultaneous provide orders.

Then the ISP will either order it for you and give you a code to provide to BT or the ISP will tell you to order your new line from BT (make sure you mention simultaneous provide order' at the beginning of any conversation) and then you tell your ISP the BT order reference.

Hi there,

Your chosen Line provider will do the SIM provide for you. So lets say you want a BT line and BT Broadband, then BT would deal with it all. If you wanted a BT line and Sky Broadband. You Place the order for your Broadband with Sky, then order your line with BT telling BT that you have another provider for your Broadband. There is an idiots guide to Sim provide on the Plusnet website that is very clear and helpful.
