Cleaning grotty interior?

Any tips? My car seats are pretty discusting - previous owner must have been a dirty minger.

Tried the usual interior spray on valet clean, worked a bit. Tried a steam cleaner, that helped a bit more. There are still however lots of grotty stains in my car that I want to get cleaned up.

The local car wash charge circa £30 for cleaning seats, and its obviously about £30 to hire one of those rug doctor thingys.

Any nice cheap suggestions for getting my car nice and clean again?

Why did you buy a car with minging seats?
You can pick your friends and you can pick your nose but you can't pick your friend's nose.

Just get someone in to do it for you- they'll have all the right gear and chemicals.

I bought a Renault off a farmer which had most of the farm inside and £80 later it looked as good as new, I could never have done it on my own.

To give you an idea of cost-

Yes because buying an entire interior from a scrappie and then getting it fitted (and risking upsetting the airbags) is cheaper than paying a valeter £30 do it for you

    +1

Just get it done professionally for the sake of £30. They have all the chemicals, will do a better job and you wont waste a day of your life faffing about cleaning seats.

Two or three potions for cleaning from Halfrauds will cost you near that anyway.

And it was the only one for sale?

Anyway, I'm another vote for letting a valeter do it for you.:)

I have a Vax carpet cleaner - does a brilliant job on seats with the appropriate attachments, but still about £170 dearer than having it done by a valeter...

Our old Clio had beige seats.

It had a hard life being used for Care Work, so basically a mobile office and the kids where 9 and 11 when we bought it.

So a few stains here and there, then the wife bought new jeans with silly zips on the sides.

Ripped the drivers seats to pieces over a few weeks as the zip would catch when she got in and out.

I bought and fitted a mk3 facelift interior with half "faux" leather.

That's when I found out the later ones have thigh airbags instead of seatbelt pretensioners.

I did get it fitted in the end, Black instead of Beige. I mixed and matched the plastic panels for the old Beige ones on the Black seats and it matched the rest of the car perfectly, door panels and dash where a mix of Black and Beige, actually looked factory!

Never had any airbag problems till the under seat plug started to cause a few problems, soldered those up.

I think it was back on when we got rid.

To be fair we had got out money back on that car.

I paid £180 (I think) for the seats on eBay. They were from a three door so panels where no good.

Did the same for my V50, paid £100 for front and rear seats.

Changing the Volvo seats was as simple as you like, even though they were from a 2005 model and mine was 2008.

depends on what is making them grotty smart rse My first co car was passed to me from a senior employer, within it 5l of unpasteurised raw milk had been spilled.
The only way to get rid of the smell was a new interior, no amount of cleaning products could fix it.
