  • I agree, I would rather pay a fee of £50 to go to a different supplier than continue like this. As I said previously the most up to date DD payment change only a few weeks ago should have accounted for any over usage in my opinion and if they have changed that feeling we could go into debt after such a sort time, well I just think that's a bit presumptuous and in summer months is just inaccurate. Definitely going to call to query this. Thanks!

    I agree, which is why I'll have to nag tonight when he gets home to call them and sort it. I don't have the passwords etc to call and it's in his name. It's paperless billing sent to his email so I can't check page 2, but as a general rule he is a stickler for knowing how much is coming out monthly so I would say he would never agree to a variable payment (knowingly anyway). I'm just trying to get as much info to provide him with to then go to them with.

    Buy him an 99p App called 'Meters'. The App allows you to track expenditure on a constant basis. You enter the tariff details and meter readings, and it will produce graphs showing daily, weekly, monthly and annual usage; amount owed since last bill etc. For example, I entered a gas meter reading this morning and it shows that I have used 307.6kWh; costing £10.45 over the past 24.9 days or 12.4kWh/£0.42/day.

    When you do the comparison, check Dual Fuel and then look at gas and electricity separately. I use Zog for gas and GBEnergy for electricity. Even without passwords etc, you could go to the 2 suppliers' sites and get your own quotes (But Don't press SWITCH). Add them together and you have an annual cost. It is though important to use kWhs and not £s when getting a quote. I am sure that you know this already.
