My wife cannot be bothered

Options
Hi chaps, there's a possibility that my wife had PPI with at least one small loan 10 years ago, she has gone onto the site (Black Horse) and quickly decided that she couldn't be bothered to go through all the grief as she hasn't any documentary evidence at all (we moved house a few years ago and all old paperwork was dumped.

There will probably be a row if I insist as I can't take the thought that someone is keeping some money that's due to her - however as i don't want some tender parts bruised should I just keep out of it, especially as without account numbers etc., it's probably going to be a painful exercise - in more ways than one ?

Regards Roger

You're getting a bit worked up about a "possibility" of ppi on a small loan and risking matrimonial harmony?

So, there may have been ppi, you've no paperwork, it's 10 ten years ago, and the big question, in what way do you feel the ppi was mis-sold? (if there was any ppi on the loan)

Money is not "due to her" unless you can show some wrong-doing.

It will hardly be "painful" to contact the Bank and ask if there are still records of this finance and, if so, whether there was PPI attached.

Whether you get a refund of any such PPI will depend on the validity of any subsequent complaint you might make. Your wife is not "due" anything.

Excellent responses thank you. It's clarified the position perfectly ... good of you both to take the time. Roger
