Cheapest way to send a heavy parcel to New Zealand.

As the title, will weigh about 6kg and be 80x80x60cms. No rush to get there and not a lot of value.

Can you split it into parcels weighing up to 2kg?

Splitting would also be good if you can get the volume down - that is a sizeable box. If it is of little value I think this may not be worth posting I'm afraid.

Yes, it's not so much the weight but the dimensions....

Parcel monkey comparison site says it will cost £973

You can send it by sea. It'll take months to get there but that is the cheapest option.

NZ is zone 11 and 5kg with parcelforce economy would cost around £86.

There are cheaper options than parcelforce.

:p Regular savers earn 6% interest (HSBC, First Direct, M&S) :p Loans cost 2.9% per year (Nationwide) = FREE money. :p

Thanks all, it is of sentimental value and we are downsizing so our DD in NZ would like it.
So where do I find the sea route prices?

Try a quote via Transglobal Express.

Using your weight and dims to Auckland it takes just under a couple of months and costs just under £100.

Surprisingly I've found that DHL are often reasonable when sending parcels to New Zealand.
