Home insurance - overlap

Hi
My home insurance auto renewed and I found a cheaper quote online so I phoned insurance company A and told them that I wanted to cancel due to cheaper quote she said to wait until it's all set then cancel as I was still in cooling off period anyway. So I set up the other insurance B online, thinking it was starting the following day at midday. Anyway in the middle of the night we had a fire, so I cancelled insurance B at 10am after I had already started to process the claim through insurance company A. Thinking that was the end of it, a few weeks later insurance company A said they are reviewing my telephone call (standard procedure?) and they would get back to me, I asked them what the problem is as I had not cancelled. They said they would get back to me.
I couldn't understand so I phoned insurance company B to find out if I had been covered with them at the time and they said I was covered between midnight and 10am when I cancelled (the fire was approx 3am),
Is this going to be a problem for me?
Please advise

no problem if there is overlap on hours. However, do expect an investigation as a claim on day one of a new policy is going to look suspicious.I am an Independent Financial Adviser (IFA). I really appreciate your help, thank you so much. I've been so stressed out. Electrical fault in car set fire to car then house
, police and fire reports confirm it all. Thanks
