Howdens for £2000

Am I likely to get a howden's kitchen supplied and fitted for not more than two grand? I'm not planning to include any appliances , just keeping my free-standing ones, and no end peices or corner bits. I will be having a new hood, sink, tap and 2 work surfaces. I know it would depend on which design I choose but I don't want to get a quote if it's going to be out of my budget and be embarresed for having asked. Thanks

I'm IKEA kitchen fan - you do need to build thir units, but quite easy to do. I'd imagine Howdens price is a bit dearer to allow for theirs being ready built, so you might save some £$£$ that way.

We went MFI to get plan/quote similar to our Ikea design, it would have been £14-1500ish & as much again to fit. The Ikea was just over £1000 to buy & £800(independent fitter) to fit, after we removed the old one.

Does that make any sense, 'cos it sounds confusing typing it!!

Why not go and get a quote anyway? I bet you'll be surprised. There is no need to be embarassed just to ask someone to come round and price up a kitchen. Say your limit is £2k when they are there and see what they come up with. Most people will get different quotes so Howdens won't be expecting that they are the only ones. Because Howdens supply the units already made, that will save your fitter time, so will prob save on installation costs anyway. I reckon you'll be fine. If you don't ask - you'll never know! Good luck. x

That means your units and worktops can only be roughly£1000 to £1200.Around £100 for sink If you look at MFI Schreiber range, to get a rough idea of cost of units.
Not many decent joiners are going to work for less. You will also need plumber for sink around £50 to £100 depending on complexity of job, ie dish washer, washing machine, American fridge
  • Thanks all. I've decided to go for a quote from a local person who supplies and fits. I guess he'll show me brochures and I'll have to ask which are the cheaper ones! I'd love to go to Ikea but I'm on the south coast and my nearest one is in Bristol. I guess I could try B&Q but I'd rather try for supply and fit. my o/h fitted our current kitchen 7 years ago. Being that bit older now, we'd sooner get it done for us but if it can't be done for 2 grand I'll be back saving for another year.
