Divorce - husband agreed with divorce but Court not sent paperwork

Sorry for the depressing post, but just needed some advice.....

Me and my ex are in the process of getting divorced.

I have sent the separation petition off, the court have sent this to my ex and he received the acknowledgement of service paperwork (form d10) he filled this in and sent it off over 2 weeks ago.

I have not received anything further from the court, I was expecting to receive the paperwork to enable me to file for the decree Nici but I need a copy of the form D10 to do this.

I know my ex has agreed to the divorce, so shouldn't I have received this from the court by now? If anyone has an idea of time scale that would be great.

I think it took around six weeks when I did mine.

I can't remember the timescale completely but I think it will be up to 6 weeks for the Nisi and then 56 days for the absolute (I'm sure I'll be corrected if wrong).
have you tried to contact the court to ensure all the paperwork has been received, I do remember I did that a couple of times

I can't remember the exact timings of mine (it was a long time ago), but I do recall that each stage of the process took at least 4 times longer than I thought it would.

Thank you all, I have tried to contact the court this afternoon but after getting lost in their switch board system for over half an hour I gave up! I will leave it a few more days and try again though.

    Thanks again.

Can't you do a follow up? Call the one handling your case or any contact you may have handling the case?

Divorces were moved from local courts to a number of regional centres, last year, and the regional centres were not given much in the way of extra staff or funding. It's getting better but at one time it was taking them 6 weeks + to turn things around.

I'd suggest that you leave it another 2 weeks and then chase if you haven't heard anything.

I know that our 'local' regional centre has got much faster at issuing petitions but is still taking around 3 weeks minimum to forward the acknowledgments of service.

Thanks TBagPuss I have seen similar stories online.

I was surprised to discover that local courts don't deal with divorces anymore, my 'local' centre is now 70 miles away!

I found an email address for them, apparently it takes 5 working days to hear back!
