When Iceland crashed, they went back to eating their own fish instead of importing our beef. We'd likely eat more spuds and less pasta in the same situation. Our own firewood would be the obvious way to heat our houses.
Overall, anyone who tells you exactly what's going to happen next is either making it up or doesn't understand. We just can't know anything more than a few obvious outcomes. Here's one Rubbish one that I keep reading - Scotland will declare independence and rejoin Europe if there is a brexit. Guff. Scotland would have to join as a new applicant if there was then a vote for independence. They wouldn't be allowed, with their massive debt and overspending - austerity without the English to blame?

RemainI'm definitely voting to remain.
I'm not a mindless bigot who hates everything 'foreign' and I see no compelling reason to leave. It's laughable how many people think there will be some great liberation on voting out. Nope, we'll have either David and George or Boris and Michael and Ian. All rich eton attendees (or similar schools) who absolutely loathe the working class. We'll still be their slaves.
I'm for freedom of movement. Especially into northern Ireland. It might dilute the sectarianism prevalent in this squalid hole we inhabit.
That said, I've £30 on the result being exit, so at least in the very short term I would be richer and feel like a genius.0 -
£30. What are you, a man or a mouse?
Round here, most immigrants seem to be from bizarre places like São Tom! and Timor leste, none of which can be found on any map of the eu. Therefore, they're only here with the permission of the U.K. Government, and brexit would make no difference.“What means that trump?” Timon of Athens by William Shakespeare0 -

It would make plenty of difference.
Being here with permission of the Home Office and being here with having to do no more than get some transport across the sea is a massively different proposition. It comes with different rights.
If the freedom of movement that exists within the EU disappears and you need a visa etc. to move between here and the EU then that is detrimental to me and to a lot of people. It certainly doesn't make things easier or better IMO.
I really can't think of one benefit of leaving the EU. I laugh at people that think this will give 'us' more power. We don't have any power. We will still have three levels of government to deal with and with maybe the exception of local government none of them really give a !!!! about us.
Being in or out is probably largely neutral financially once the dust settles but we lose the rest of the benefits.
As for the £30, I'm not a gambler, this is just for a little added interest.0 -
I'm only referring to immigration, which seems to be the big bugbear. If you think immigrants from East Timor are all going to be on the boat home when you vote Leave, so your kids can get summer jobs in moypark, you're wrong. As I said, non eu immigrants are here with the permission of the U.K. Government, European freedom of movement laws have nothing to with this, and brexit will make no difference at all to this.“What means that trump?” Timon of Athens by William Shakespeare0

I know.
You appear to think I am confused about the immigration issue. I'm not. If people are here with the permission of the Home Office of course an exit will make no difference. Others immigrating here doesn't bother me at all.
What I don't want is my freedom to move around Europe impinged. I like easy travel and it's a serious possibility that travel to EU nations will be more difficult and time consuming. That's just one issue.0 -
LeaveI'm voting out.
I travel quite a bit around the UK and we here in NI are quite insulated from the amount of immigration into the country as a whole. I'm all for immigration where it has a positive effect on the country, Doctors from India, nurses from Phillipines etc but the prospect of another handful of eastern European countries being given free access to the EU over the next few years scares the hell out of me.
Added to that no matter what you think of our politicians in Stormont or Westminster - the European Parliament is a cess pool of corruption and insider dealing. Billions squandered and unelected politicians making decision which affect the whole of the EU.I am a Financial Adviser specialising in Mortgages, Protection, Health and Medical Insurance.
