Claiming Deposit Protection Compensation Advice Needed

Hello I am looking for some advice please. I have lived in my property now for 13 months, my fixed term tenancy finished on the 30th April 2016.
I am looking at making a claim for compensation as my landlord failed to protect my deposit within 30 days of me starting the tenancy, I just wanted some advice to make sure I have everything I need.
The original tenancy agreement doesnt say I paid a deposit as I was originally going to use the council bond scheme but that fell though and I paid a deposit, I have also looked and the account that I used to make the payments has now being closed so I cannot use a bank statement as proof either.
I do however have my Tenancy Deposit Certificate which was emailed to me (and obviously has the date it was sent) and access to the website which says that I have paid it and how much however they have put my name is wrong! So all of its not ideal.
I am first going to try and resolve direct with the landlord but If I cant do you think what I have will be sufficient evidence to take it to court?
Thanks!

How wrong is the name? A mis spelling/wrong inital, or completlely wrong name?Rainbowunicorn wrote: »I do however have my Tenancy Deposit Certificate which was emailed to me (and obviously has the date it was sent) and access to the website which says that I have paid it and how much however they have put my name is wrong! I would expect that if you can show the start date of your tenancy, and the date the deposit was registered, you'll be fine, provided it is clear the deposit registration refers to your tenancy (albeit with 'Smith' spelt 'Smythe')

How many days after 30 did they end up protecting it then? Did you challenge them at the time and that's what led them to finally protect your deposit?
Are you looking into suing them because they kept some of your deposit after your left? Did it go to arbitration and the arbitrator agreed with them?0
