Help - Canon wifi printer problem

Some advice please.

I set up a Canon MG2950 wifi printer to Google Cloud Print some weeks ago and all was good.

The other day I bought a Chromebook as the Windows laptop I had originally used to set up the printer to Google Cloud had packed up.

I find that I cannot print with the Chromebook and the printer is showing offline.

Would I be correct in saying that I have to delete the printer from the Chrome settings and re-install using a Windows or Mac PC?

Thanks

I wouldn't have thought so as the whole point of cloud printing is that it works from any device and your chromebook is just another device.

Have you had a look at the Cloud print settings in your Google account?

It may be that you need to do something to enable the chromebook to use it.

I'm sure someone who knows will be along soon.

I just installed a Canon MG2950 this morning to print from my Chromebook( No Pc involved to set it up) but it is a bit of a long winded process

After pairing the WiFi using the WPS button on ur router

"Press and hold the [Cancel[MASTER] Cancel Button] button until the orange alarm lamp flashes 15 times and then release it. The network information page will be printed."

Using this network info printed out, type into the chrombook browser the IPv4 IP address. (series of 10 numbers and dots)

Then enter exactly as typed below

    User name; ADMIN

    Password; canon

    Add 'Google Cloud printer'

Canon WiFi support has a number to guide you through it if you get stuck

    +44 (0)207 660 0186 (I'm sure they get plenty of calls)

Thanks Ballyblack, I will do as you have done (via the new Chromebook) but delete the existing printer details first. There seems to be some conflict somewhere to show the printer being offline, yet, on the home network.

I had actually used the link you sent before to register the printer and get it working in the first place.

Its the fact that it was working before, yet shows offline after I started using the Chromebook that has confused me.

I hope deregistering it, then starting again will be the solution.
