Insuring 1800s (non-listed) house

It seems it's not possible to insure a house which was mostly built around 1800 via an online application, so a lot of the cashbacks and similar incentives aren't available. Does anyone have any suggestions as to the best companies for me to phone for quotes, please?

Plenty of companies to choose from. I used to be with Aviva until I found out just how much they were overcharging me and they refused to enter into any dialogue or explain why. Now happily with NFU Mutual with the same cover at a third of the premium and with a real live human to talk to behind a desk in the local town.

Not really having problems beyond being unable to do it online (which is how I prefer doing things) and not knowing where to start because I've never owned or insured a house before - and fingers crossed, this time next week I'll have exchanged contracts!

It's the age of the property prevents me insuring online, but the two foot rubblestone walls may prove to be an issue too.

Never had a problem insuring our property online. Built 1840 ish and yes is constructed from earth and stone with no foundations or damp proof course!!!!!! Always been honest about construction and it's not listed either. Like Apodemus now insure with NFU.
