Paying a friend with a credit card, is this possible.

in Credit cards
Normally when I pay friends ( gigs, tickets etc) I get their account no. and sort code and pay it straight from my bank account. Simple and easy.
I need to pay a friend my share of a holiday.
I've just received my Marks & Spencer credit card. Is there anyway I can pay her in maybe a similar way using this card?
(My card is approx 19 months 0% on spending)
Seems silly to scrape the pennies together when I have a credit card.
Any info would be great, thankyou.

What you're looking to do is effectively seen as a cash withdrawal, for which there would usually be a fee and it wouldn't be 0% after that either, i.e. it would incur interest if not paid off in full. Are you able to pay the holiday company your share directly?0

From memory I believe that a few years back I attached my credit card to my PayPal account, and did a transfer this way to a friend.
Appeared as a normal PayPal transaction on the statement just like buying off of eBay etc.0 -
Unfortunately I can't pay the holiday compny directly myself.
I was wondering about paypal. So if she has a paypal account I could just add my card to my paypal account and pay her that way?0 -
You would want to use the pay a friend option, to avoid the receiver having to pay fee, however if founding the payment via credit card, paypal will charge the sender a small fee:

Thankyou!0 -
I have just done exactly this to pay a friend using my credit card for a holiday he's booked for all of us. Works well, tiny fee but allows you to spread the cost0

I understand using the card to send money via PayPal is classed as a purchase (and therefore subject to 0%) and not a cash withdrawal.
Just remember there's a PayPal fee. It's only ever small but it does annoy me when I ask people who want to use it to pay me (when selling things on Gumtree, taking payment from friends for stuff) to make sure THEY pay the fee and they don't tick that box when sending payment.0
