Smart Meters - Interference?
Comments

My brother in law told me yesterday that his smart meter interferes with his car electrics. When he parks near the meter he cant start the engine!
Also his display gets turned off over Xmas and Easter
Great.
I confidently expect that eventually we'll hear of someone unable to get into their car because it's interfering with the key fob ....0 -

They will add more electrical signals in the air, which is a potential health hazard. There's also more potential for the signal to cause interference as it's a very powerful signal which they use.
Tell your supplier to stop trying to force you to have one, as there is no law which states you must have one. Express the concerns which you have stated here.0 -

Still can when they go wrong, typically on 433Mhz though.0 -
No, that was the wireless mast at my usual Sainsburys. I either had to park in certain places, or try to shield the receptor thing with my body, but usually I just opened the door without cancelling and let it hoot a few times.Great.

Sold car to someone who lives 60 miles away, but that would have been the least of his worries! :rotfl:0 -
Nonsense. I think even the Daily Mail have given up on that one. They will add more electrical signals in the air, which is a potential health hazard.
It's the same as a mobile phone, which is active infrequently to send readings. The smart meter display uses a low power, low range technology, which again is active infrequently to update the display. There's also more potential for the signal to cause interference as it's a very powerful signal which they use.1
