Can a default be reapplied to credit report

Hello,
Previously had a default from Natwest bank for overdraft fees, which after disputing they agreed they were unfair so agreed to remove the default from my account and mark it as closed on my credit file, although it still says i have a remaining balance. My question is, can they remark it as a default again? or once the account has closed can they not alter it again?

Hi Sh0w,
I think the issue will be in the wording of letter from NatWest about 'closing' the account. If the matter is closed then I find it unlikely that they could default the account again or chase you for the money but if your credit file is still showing a balance owing that may be an issue. Try and dig out your letter from NatWest to confirm what they actually agreed to - good luck,
Laura
