Force ten.....I have read that you can use detailing spray between washes...how does that work

that is somthing that i have never tried, I always worry about rubbing dirt over the car and marring the surface with swirl marks

many people do use quick detail spray between washes and seem happy with the results

Does the detailing spray add any protection? I thought it was just a way of wetting the surface so that a cloth could get the dirt off. I'm using AG detailing spray, and it smells lovely.

i used to use Meguiars ultimate quick detailer but this year i bought a US gallon of Meguiars #135 Synthetic Spray Detailer

    meguiars say
Meguiars #135 Synthetic Spray Detailer is the latest product from the Meguiars Professional range. It is a quick detailer ideal for maintaining that just waxed look between washes.

Meguiars Synthetic Spray Detailer contains Hydrophobic polymer technology adds gloss whilst enhancing protection. This is the trade bulk version of the Ultimate Quick Detailer one of our most popular detailing sprays.

I wouldn't advocate using a detailer on a dirty car as a waterless wash.

Very very light dust, pollen or finger-marks is what I use the AG Rapid Detailer for.

My twice a year regime is as follows:

AG Tar Remover used on the rear bumper and lower side panels.
    AG SRP
    AG EGP

That takes a couple of hours.

I wash the car as and when needed with AG Shampoo & Conditioner.

After drying with a microfibre towel I go over the whole car with the Rapid Detailer and a dry microfibre - that takes only an extra 5 minutes or so, but extends the life of the EGP coat by leaving a water-repellent polymer layer on the surface.

That is usually enough to restore the gloss finish.

But if there are any patches that need attention I use a product called Topaz which is described on the container as a polish but is really a very efficient mild cleaner and surface dressing. It's very good at removing any odd tar spots or marks left by bird droppings.

I don't use the AG Tar Remover unless I'm going to fully polish the car afterwards as it removes any sealer or wax that is on the surface too.

Bird mess and tree sap are the main problems where I live.

To get bird poo off easily I use a square of toilet paper or kitchen roll - just soak the paper in clean water and lay it on the bird droppings - wait 3 or 4 minutes then it all comes away with the paper.

Tree sap need a full wash and shampoo of course.

It does add some protection, AG rapid detailer for example contains polymers which will leave a layer of protection after use. Because detailers are lubricating they can also be used as a clay lubricant.

Yes, it worked well for me with the clay bar. First time I had ever done that, and I was surprised how easy it was.

Good info, thanks. I use soaked kitchen roll on the headlights and frontal area where all the bugs stick and bake hard in the summer; same technique, same results.

Hi I'm looking for one product for leather care, that will protect, shine etc and really would prefer one product for car seats, leather sofa and ideally leather handbag and jacket, not 3 or 4. Any ideas?

They are all looking very dry, was about to get Autoglym Leather Balm, 25% off at the minute but can't work out how that compares to STUBBEN Hamanol Leather Bridle Saddle Dressing Cleaner Conditioner Cream which is good for sofas.

Leather wipes don't seem like they will condition. I've cleaned the sofa with baby wipes and need to condition. Can't see why the same wouldn't work for the car leather seats?
I had a look at the detailing site but that has loads of ideas, with Sonax matt coming out well, but can t find that on sale.

Anyone on the same track, just can't bear the idea of all loads and clutter.

    Cheers
