Best place to live in Midlands?

Hi
I have a new job in Coventry, I am moving from London and still need to be able to travel to London easily. Where are the best places in the Midlands to live with good transport links to Coventry and London? I am looking to rent, like a bit of countryside but would like to be no more than a bike ride away from a train station.
Any advice appreciated
Thanks!

Solihull is nice with good links to Coventry and a direct line to London Marylebone. Can be quite pricey however.
Places which are up and coming include Sheldon or Olton which have good transport links.Dooyoo £10.40/40, TopCashBack £17.19/30, Valued Opinions 50p/£10, Swagbucks 0/£20, Ebay £15/£250 -

If you work in Coventry then find a house/flat to rent a short walk/bike ride away from where you work.
I'm not one for commuting much.
If you know what bus routes go near your workplace then look somewhere around the ends of the route and you might find somewhere rural enough.
If you drive then you've got a lot of options around Coventry.:footie:Regular savers earn 6% interest (HSBC, First Direct, M&S)

Rugby - good train links to London (50 mins) and 10 minutes on the train to Cov.
When you say you like a bit of countryside - how rural do you want to be? Long Buckby, Northamptonshire. 20 min train journey to Cov but although slightly closer to London - only stopping trains so takes about 1hr 20 mins.0 -
Only if OP has a car. Public transport links between Leamington Spa and Coventry are not good. Hourly train, and bus takes forever, as students choosing to live in Leamington soon find out.
Visit a friend at that area, feel that is nice.
Never take public transport there...
BTW, is it practical to live without car outside London?
i personally find it hard...0 -

The bus through Church Lawford, Wolston and Brandon to Coventry is fairly regular, so if working in the centre of Coventry they're all rural (if moderately pricey) options.0 -
Lichfield as the train to London is something daft like 1 hour 30 minutes or around that .0

Tough question.
I work in Coventry but don't live there, also know a few people who bike into Coventry from where they live.
I know it's possible (i.e. not unreasonable) to bike ride from Nuneaton into Coventry while Nuneaton also has good rail links with London. Nuneaton isn't particularly large so you could live on the southern outskirts and bike in Coventry when you choose to or to Nuneaton train station and get to Coventry or London from there.
However, you may not like the area. With it not being as plush as Leamington or Warwick for example you will also find that your rent will be less for a comparable property, you may even be able to buy.0
