How is this a scam ?
Guy is sending money via bank transfer, you get the money. Then car is delivered.
What's the scam element here ?
Him reversing the transaction ? You can take out the money. ?0 -
Have you tried selling to a local dealer or via: https://www.webuyanycar.com/

I Invited him up and he told me it would eat into his small profit on flights etc...
Could someone briefly explain how the scam works? Iv never heard of this before.
There is no money, there is no buyer. Keep on advertising it until you get a genuine buyer.
He is not going to drop £20K on a car that he has not seen, take it to a dealer to get a small profit and cannot afford to get a £30 flight to check your car.0 -

There will be no money, maybe a fake email saying the funds have hit his account, or the funds come from a hacked online account.
No reasonable person should accept £20,000 from someone they have never met for a car that they have never seem.......in the same way no reasonable person should transfer £20,000 to someone they have never met for a car that they have never seen.0 -
& what they be rather than the trims on the offer. At least the Op will have the cash in the bank rather than a scam?
weeowens when you enter the car reg and go through the description status of a car that you want to sell https://www.weconyouforyourcar.con will then make a provisional off and let's say that the car is valued around £20.000 they will offer around £16.000 if you are lucky, You may then think all is good and arrange to go and visit a nearby garage to complete the deal and at this point they will then find faults that may not even exist to get the offer dropped down to £1000.00.
Out and out scammers they are and hide behind a what looks to be a legit Company, I have entered car details in numerous occasions out of interest and they really are a very raw deal money wise.0 -
If its a nearly new low mileage car, take it to the suppling dealer to see if they want to buy it off you for their stock, unless its a common model they may offer you more than webuyanycarathalfthevalue.com.0

End of the day just tell them if they want the car come to you if they buy it you will take them to the bank and physically pay the money into your acct and then they take the car away, if they wont do this then tell them you are only selling the car to anyone on these terms and if they wont agree they will not be buying the car end of. Plus ive got the people to sign a piece of paper stating the time and date of the transaction if they are paying cash with a sold as seen etc. That way if they disappear down the motorway at 110 mph get caught on the camera you will not get a invite to explain your actions and a fine etc for the privilage. It happens believe me0
