Getting Mugs Clean

I have just cleaned a really badly stained mug using bicarb and it came up a treat in no time, so thanks for an excellent tip!

A teaspoon of Varnish powder + hot water works well

I always wash my mugs with the rest of the dishes either by hand or in the dishwasher, and I don't have any problem with tea staining - and I only drink black tea so it's even worse than with milk. I'm a bit obsessive about even the slightest bit of staining on the mugs actually I just give them a good clean out with the dishcloth. Mugs get stained when they're just rinsed under a tap.

Barkeepers Friend will remove just about any stain from anything. It is similar to bicarb. Try it on PVCu window frames, better than any solvent cleaner or cream.
