    Hi

I use a clarity card just for foreign travel and pre-load with my expected spend so that it has a positive balance (eg pay in £500 before i travel) and that way the withdrawls dont trigger any charges...and if you dont spend that much, use it in the UK for normal spending - you cant lose!

Errr.. yes, you can. The danger with pre-loading is that if you card is lost or cloned then you may have difficulty getting the money back as it's against the T&Cs.

The interest on £500 spend is only going to be a couple of quid so not really worth losing sleep over.
