I wouldn't try & educate them or nurse them as such, just tried to open a dialogue about diabetis as my step son has it, but I am not going to bother doing that anymore. I think that things are so bad that even if he mended his ways - as such it's too late.
I think they do eat fruit if it's with double cream & a massive merange & a dod of ice cream with it!
pmduck - I did used to smoke, but the discharge from hospital so they could have a ciggie is a bit extreme. But addiction is a powerful thing I suppose. Shame they couldn't have stopped before things got so bad.0 -
A real eye-opener would be some of the graphic illustrations of infections, deformities and amputations caused by abusing diabetes, shown by volunteer doctors at Diabetes UK meetings, but then the man would be very unlikely to make the effort to attend.

I'm not a saint - I come home & am banging my head off the wall.
I don't know how the hospital staff contain their selves when having to deal with all these types of hugely obese people in denial. It is quite obscene when you see people starving in 3rd world countries & then all these huge.......
Sorry......must just shrug & not say anything.0
