Having issues with my PC. Slow at best and at worst I get page nor responding or pages that freeze. Current wait time is about 5 minutes per page, email or even scrolling a page. For some reason I can view the iplayer fine and type without any delay. It's just pages loading or moving, I've no clear idea why but it got worse when I installed a free malware scan (from a link on MSE, company name began Piri.... but I can't remember the full name neither do I have the time to search for it. It's taken me over half an hour just to get to type this thread!).

I uninstalled the malware scan software after it kept sneakily downloading stuff I didn't want (virus protection and stuff I didn't really want for and seemed to make my PC slower). I uninstalled the whole bundle and all it's additions and now my PC is running even slower!

I've done a Hijack-this scan and was wondering if anyone could tell me if anything stands out and if there are any ideas on what else to try?

OK, so I now can't post my Hijack this scan because it's "forbidden 15". I'm assuming MSE have a new scan filter and wont allow things like this to be posted because it looks too non-sensible and like spam.

Being that I have the scan results myself, is there anything I can look for to try to repair? I have not got a clue what I'm looking for and waiting up to 5 minutes to just get a page to load is really wearing a bit thin now!

If you get yourself a copy of Computer Shopper (July 2016 Issue 341), yellow front page saying 'The 21 things Killing your PC' there is a good article starting on page 99. It gives lots of software advice and links.

neither do I have the time to search for it.

    A real sympathy losing comment!
There is a software firm called Piriform which makes things like CCleaner.

Have you installed and run Malwarebytes?
Do you have an up to date anti virus scanner and of sop have you run a full scan?
